Pros
Good Water Flow
Works with Platypus
Cons
Expensive
No clip or magnet
Best Uses
Day Hiking
Mountain Biking
I used this with a 2L Platypus Big Zip reservoir. It was simple to install on the bag.
You have to buy a clip because all you get is a hose.
I used this on a 7 hour day hike in 80 degree weather. I had my 2 liter Platypus bag in the refrigerator a day prior to the hike to make sure the water was cold. I could tell a difference in the water temp compared to the standard hose. The difference was only slight. Maybe around 20% cooler. So, the water was still warm...
If Camelback didn't make you buy extras and charge a lot I would have rated it higher. It'a just way to expensive for using in hot weather. Maybe it's better in freezing conditions.
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend
