Cons
Too stiff and narrow
Uncomfortable
I bought these Merrells for hiking and trail running. The stiff fit and narrow toe area put pressure on my toes and the top of my foot, although the length was fine. I kept wearing them in hopes that they would "break in" and become more comfortable, but unfortunately I ended up with a Morton's neuroma after only a few months. I haven't been running or hiking in the past 6 months because of the neuroma, which bothers me even when I walk. I ended up giving the lightly-used Merrells to Goodwill. Only buy these shoes if you have narrow feet and low arches.

I am a rural mail carrier and have developed a bunion on my left foot. I was considering a doctor and possibly surgery when I found a review about the Merrell Siren shoe. My foot pain has completely subsided with exception of brief moments that are nothing compared to before. The shoe feels great on the foot. They were a little tight at first, but after a couple weeks they truly are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Seem to be very sturdy but flexible, and grip the road great. Yes, I would recommend to a friend and have.

Bought these shoes the day before heading out to Yosemite. Was really worried about having no time to break them in but they ended up being terrific! No blisters after 4 days of hiking. I highly recommend them. I bought a size 9 and usually wear an 8. I also bought and used the REI liners and hiking socks - worked great.
